rain on paper and a pillowcase

Data visualisation, Exhibition, Photography

The project focuses on transforming an old development procedure into the modern world by incorporating the contemporary element of weather. Utilizing the cyanotype fine print technique, the weather is used instead of an object or negative. With a developing time of up to eight hours, it becomes possible to record a day and create a unique way of capturing a specific place’s atmosphere. The surface of paper (and a cotton pillow case) is coated with a light-sensitive chemical, washed out by the elements of rain, snow, and wind, and becomes dark blue in the sun. This innovative approach provides an unconventional yet creative way of documenting a day and its weather conditions.
